MrBeasts Minecraft Tournament Destroyed Civilization In 24 Hours

When you think of Minecraft tournaments, your mind probably goes to a casual building competition or maybe a fun server-wide battle with naught but your honor up for grabs. MrBeast hosted a Minecraft tournament recently with a $30,000 prize pool. He invited 1,000 Minecraft players to the same server in the Sandbox game in groups led prominent Minecraft YouTubers. The participants were tasked with building a thriving civilization across the biomes.

Naturally, this led to mass warfare as well as the destruction and devastation of the server's civilization. But it was all part in the plan. After 24 hours spent building the server in frantic fashion, Mr Beast forced each group into combat. This was to determine who's survival skills were stronger. The group that managed to defeat the other six was declared the winner and claimed the prize money.

However, skills could only take participants so far as Mr Beast made sure that no one was left behind. One group had to make the most of the Badlands' harsh environment and limited resources, while another was stuck in the middle of the ocean and built a massive fortress to stave off attacks from all sides.

The most resourceful group spent their time digging their heels in and creating a stalwart castle with all the trimmings - thick walls, deadly moat, the works.

As in Minecraft, even the best laid strategies can go sour. Once the combat started, few things - other than maybe the massive castle walls - could hold back the invading hordes, and not just mobs of other players.

Slimes and their Minecraft foes threw a wrench into battle strategies, sending dreams of glory to flaming ruins.

It's a compelling case for a Minecraft battle-game, and although there is no indication Mojang has any such plans, it's possible that a Minecraft strategy game will soon be released.

We have plenty to keep us going through The Wild update. It's frightening out there in The Wild.
