How to obtain the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft for no cost! (Mojang News post)

It appears to be an emergency post, however there seems to be no redeem button on the Mojang account page right now. I'm assuming it'll be available tomorrow after the launch.

edit The redeem button is now available for me and many others! Check for yourself! http://i.imgur.com/9j8pupC.png

Works for me: http://imgur.com/km6PcRN

What a shame for their support department.

i get as far as the redemption button on Microsoft's account and billing page , but it says there is an error. Is there a time limit for redemption for this redemption?

Windows 10 is being rolled out "today"/"tomorrow" depending on where you are. The button should be accessible at 12:01 in the morning of Wednesday, Sweden time.

There's no redeem button. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though!

For those who are still in need of Windows 10:

Manual installation now available.

Direct Links

32bit exe

64bit exe

If you have an addon to force https open it in ie as the link is only http.

Instructions:

Download the software.

Run it and follow the steps. It will format your USB drive or disk, allowing you to install.

Start the installer from the drive on which you first installed it.

It will install and activate in a way that is automatic.

You can also save an ISO to use later, but you must perform an update in place first to ensure that your key is activated.

I have installed the beta and it is verified to work and is completely free.

It was delivered to me. It's amazing how optimized the game is. My PC's fans don't bother to spin up and the CPU is almost always idle.

Are there differences in the gameplay?

Yes, if it's running well on mobile, you'd expect it to run pretty good on PC too :)

Just received it. Singleplayer LOL: 2 percent CPU and 200mb The game is #NEXTGEN, but there is some noticeable mouse delay looking around, otherwise looks great. I wish we could tweak a few additional settings such as AA and Mip-Mapping. Textures get mushy with time and the water glare can be a bit strange. Other than that, great port guys :) Now I can play with my Xbox friends :P

There is a noticeable mouse delay while looking around, but the rest of the site is great. Modded minecraft servers

I've noticed the exact same thing. Mouse acceleration seems strange too.

It's a rough port at this time. It runs on C++ so it runs extremely smooth. However, it needs some tweaking to be able to accommodate the PC players. It appears to be a mobile game at the moment.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. But how did you access Windows 10? Did some people have Windows 10 earlier?
